ER600SXE Super Waveless Softside Waterbed Mattress
The ER600 SXE Super Waveless Softside waterbed mattress has firm support with virtually zero wave. It utilizes Sterling’s patented Progressive Rate System (PRS) which gives personalized support to each sleeper and provides extra support from mid-torso through the hips and buttocks to each sleeper. The ER600SXE model is available in dual chamber or single chamber styles. Dual systems completely eliminate partner disruption and provide the ability for each sleeper to control the temperature on their side of the bed. Dual systems require two heaters. Single systems require one heater. The 600SXE model has:
• A full, 8 inch depth for maximum flotation and minimum displacement between sleepers of different size
• Tethered Wave Control Systems keep the wave control/support system in place and prevent shifting of those materials
• Main seams are recessed completely underneath the mattress to eliminate flexing and stress on those seams
• A black bottom panel made from a special vinyl formulation that is better at withstanding heat from the heater
The ER600 SXE Super Waveless Softside Waterbed Mattress utilizes Sterling’s Premium 24mil Endura3 Vinyl. Endura3
is formulated with the finest resins available and is engineered to be the best material possible, making for a durable, long-lasting, high quality waterbed.

- What is a Dual vs Single System
- The ER600SXE, ER400SX, and the ER9256 are available as Dual Systems (where each sleeper has their own individual water-mattress and heater control) or Single Systems (with one water-mattress and one heater control). The Dual System is ideal for most couples, allowing for individual temperature control and eliminating water displacement caused by any weight difference between the sleepers. And even though both models are waveless, the Dual System goes further in ensuring minimal partner disruption. The Single System is ideal for those who don’t need separate temperature control and who enjoy a bit more movement, particularly with the ER400SX model. Filling the Single System is slightly easier because, of course, it’s just one mattress. Conversely, draining and moving the Dual System is easier. Always drain any waveless mattress with an electric pump.
- Softsides Explained
- Soft-side waterbeds utilize a specially designed, heavy duty foam “frame” to contain the water-mattress as opposed to the bulky wooden frame most people associate with waterbeds. This foam “frame” is surrounded by a high quality damask material that zips to a plush-top cover or pillow-top cover which makes the waterbed more luxurious. Adding the heavy duty foundation (box spring) imparts the same visual quality and size dimensions of a regular mattress and box spring. Because of this, soft-side waterbeds are easy to install, can use any type of bed linens, and can be incorporated into virtually any kind of furniture style. Soft-side waterbeds can used with four-post beds, sleigh beds, some platform beds, or with just a metal or upholstered headboard. The support system included with most conventional beds will need to be augmented to support the additional weight of the waterbed.
